K. rates this game: 5/5Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, is a video game based on the popular anime series Dragon Ball Z and was developed by Dimps and published by Atari for the PlayStation 2.
The game generally played the same as Budokai 1 and 2, it also followed the timeline of the anime series very closely. Going from the very first Vegeta saga, to the Kid Buu saga. It also tackled a few sagas from the GT series.

DragonBall Z Budokai HD is a remake of Budokai 1 and Budokai 3 both packaged into one HD disk.
Personally I didn't really like Budokai 1 because of its finicky combat mechanics, Budokai 3 on the
other hand is a much better and more polished game, I would say it's probably the best Budokai game
with the best fighting system overall in its series, that also includes the Shin Budokai series which
later builds off of this same fighting system.
There isn't much to say about this game, you play it and it reveals the story of the anime/manga very
closely and also has a few parodies/ what if stories and a few characters/ moves from the movie
or spin offs. Such as Broly.
I don't know why they didn't add in Budokai 2.. I really liked that game, maybe it was too long
and was too redundant to add. also I think they changed some of the music in the OST for this collection
as the original composer apparently copy & pasted from other musical pieces. So they had to remake a
few on the spot, you may or may not notice this. It was a bit controversial and I recommend looking
this up.
These games were very fun for their time, you may remember playing them with friends a few years back
when you were a DBZ fanatic and you didn't know about other stories/shows, so for anyone who did
play the Budokai series, please enjoy and try not to mind a bit of the redundant gameplay, the CPU
plays differently from a human opponent, so it might not play completely fair, such as the Dragon Rush
maneuver. it should be able to easily determine what button you pressed, its kind of hard to avoid
these mini games but.. oh well.
Dragon Arena is basically a level based arcade game where you keep fighting opponents and level up your
character constantly, this character can then be used to face off against other players based on another
stat, but other than that Dragon Arena is just another way to extend the time on the game, you can
also unlock some secret characters in the mode, but they have to break in at certain levels.
My favorite character is Gohan, more specifically Teen Gohan, then Adult Gohan, and probably even Videl.
His Super Kamehameha is a very flashy finishing move, especially if he's in Mystic.
